Buddhism is often considered more of a philosophy than a religion. In fact, maybe this is an “LA thing,” but people often consider themselves a Buddhist, in addition to another faith.
I’m a “Jewish Buddhist.” Whatever. Buddha can kiss my ass. I have no desire to achieve Nirvana —- which according to my 7th grade social studies teacher is the mindset of “not wanting any material objects.” There’s nothing wrong with working hard and wanting to purchase goods and services that make life easier and more pleasurable. Maybe if this country wasn’t filled with so many Buddhists we wouldn’t be in the midst of this horrible recession.
Buddha is just an overweight nobody, who sits in an uncomfortable position — which I imagine can’t be good for circulation.
