For those who are of mixed ethnicity, I think depending on clothing, this influences which part of your background “pops out” most. Simple example, a “half-black half-white” person probably looks “more black” in traditional African garb.
But besides any obvious cultural reference via type clothing worn, what about just the color of the clothing itself? The other day, friend/co-worker Catherine, who is “half-white half-Japanese” was wearing a plain basic black t-shirt. To me, she looked more Japanese.
